Sustainable Waste Management

At Matahio. we believe in continuously investing time and effort in reviewing and improving our operational systems, to manage efficiencies and keep a close eye on costs. One area of focus recently has been our waste management systems.

Born from our ongoing Asset Improvement Opportunities (AIO) process, our recent review saw us introduce a process where we conduct on-site separation of oil, water, and sand. The water is then pumped back into our water injection tanks, and the oil reintegrated into our process, leaving only the sand for offsite disposal.

With the assurance that the sand is now clean, we have full confidence in its safe disposal with zero environmental impact. Additionally, this new system leads to substantial cost savings in transporting waste materials.
